Bought this for my cockatiel aquarium. It comes in an unsealed box and looks a little intimidating. I've heard horror stories about heaters either cooking people's fish or electrocuting them. But you really don't need to be afraid. PLEASE make sure to acclimatize the heater for at least 30 minutes to avoid sudden temperature changes. It can easily break glass. I've had it for a few days now and I've only had a few issues with it. My Betta is in a 5 gallon tank (so I have 25 watts) and is struggling a bit to maintain a good 78 degrees. The temp on the unit itself is higher than my water thermometer reads so I increased it to around 81 and the water stays at a good 78.5-78.8. My other complaint is that it moves. A lot of. Even with a small suction cup. I wish there were two to make it sturdier, but honestly it's just a cosmetic preference. I hid it behind my leaves so it's not that important. Make sure you fully submerge the entire heating part. I was a bit worried because I saw a gap between the cable and the device, but I tried anyway and everything was perfect. In any case, there are very good pros and small cons, but I would definitely recommend it! And always remember to take care of your fish. they depend on you All little lives are worth so much. :)
