Review on Heli-Coil 5334-14 Thread Repair Kit by Gabriel Rosenberg

Very easy to use to rethread the spark plug hole on a 190cc Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine. When I was mowing, the spark plug completely flew out of the engine. Upon further inspection, the threads in the spark plug hole were worn and not sealing well. This tool fixed it. The tap has two sets of threads: a narrow one at the end and a larger diameter one a little further back. Insert the smaller end into the spark plug hole and use a ratchet to slightly upgrade the thread. Go ahead and use a larger diameter tap to widen and cut the spark plug hole to a larger size. Three nozzles are included: short, medium and long. Choose the correct insert length for your spark plug. (mine uses the short one). There are projections or ribs at one end of the insert. Thread the spark plug into the socket so the bulges are on the outer end, not the inner end. Apply a drop (no more) of "red" Loc-Tite thread sealant to align the male threads of the insert. (Red withstands high temperatures and pressures that hold the insert in place while the mower is in use.) Use a spark plug to screw the insert into the larger spark plug hole made by reaming and threading. Remove the spark plug. Use a crimping tool (long barrel) to drive the insert in slightly so that the nubs snap into place. Leave the mower idle for 24 hours to allow Loc-Tite to cure. Screw in the spark plug as usual. They know how to mow!
