Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why 5 stars? for tools and equipment

I bought this tool on a whim, I recently found out about the auto bleed for ABS systems, I have several cars but 2 in particular that I previously had a manual bleed on of the brakes and pedal never seemed to want to go up, so I figured it might be worth trying this tool for the auto boost feature. I've bled both my cars and the pedal has improved a lot but I still think it could be better. To be fair, the tool offers you to do a manual cut first as part of the automatic bypass, which I didn't do as before. But one day when I have time I can play around and see that I can't improve my pedals any more. Well as far as 5 stars goes I have an old 98 BMW Z3 that sat for literally a year because the airbag light came on and in my condition the car won. Do not inspect if the air bag indicator is on. Not sure if all BMWs have this, but this Z3 has both a standard 16-pin OBD connector near the dash and a 20-pin socket type connector under the hood. But I didn't have the money to take it to the BMW dealership in an hour anyway. So I tried my various OBD scanners, all to no avail, the 16 pin connector didn't recognize the scanners, I even bought a tool specifically for cleaning BMW airbag bulbs, even though it didn't connect when I installed this one Bought tools, even bought a 20 pin to 16 pin female adapter under the hood, no luck with anything anyway, I even had a guy with a professional car scanner try to connect, no luck. After bleeding the brakes, on a whim I decided to try the BMW. I tried again to connect the Autel to the standard 16-pin connector under the dash and nothing but the tool asked me to connect to the 20-pin connector. I took out my 20 pin adapter, ran an SRS and boom scan told me the security code on the passenger side was triggered and asked if I wanted to clear it, I did, it did, and the light went on was out and hasn't returned yet. I'm sure a trip to the dealer would have cost me at least twice what this tool cost, but probably more, up to $1,000. So thanks Autel, I still can't believe the lights went out after all this time. My next step was to rip out the seats and slowly track everything in hopes of finding the problem. I recently did a review of the Autel TPMS 508 scanner. These two tools together have been a great help to me, I'm not sure about the durability as these products are made in China like most others, but they both saved me money that I just can't afford right now to give to professional businesses. So I highly recommend this scanner. It can do a lot more besides reading codes. offer you updates as there seem to be hundreds of car brands that you can choose whether to download or not. Let's say if you never plan to work with Fiat then there is no point in downloading the software and if you do later you will work with Fiat and then just sign up and download it. Both Autel devices are very intuitive, they guide you step by step and if necessary suggest you to do something that might be required like I do. My automatic bleed automatically suggests the next step like a manual bleed. My wife and I have quite a few cars, mostly old stuff, my 'latest' car is 2010 and hers is 2014 so I think we're a very good fit for years to come as I did in the Revain documentary for this one Product found will say something about working with most pre 2015 cars. Well when I updated mine they downloaded 2018 updates so I think their product information is a bit out of date and by the way Autel offers free lifetime updates, I noticed in the comments section that some people only get 1 year updates Mention older reviews and Autel may have changed their update policy, but at the time of this review it will work with both 2018 vehicles and lifetime updates.
