I use these in my handmade masks at Olson Hospital. I used to wear hair ties which were only comfortable for people with small ears and heads. These ties allow for a variety of face sizes and shapes. They are also more comfortable for people who wear glasses. I do NOT sew the ends to the mask. I use a "magic knot" (google it under "knitting") to tie the two ends together and then sew them into the side channel. This allows the sides to be pulled together for a closer fit. If they break, I can add another one too - but there aren't any yet. Bonus: They ship VERY fast!
