This thing is so frustrating it makes me cry

I've spent hours carving apples, removing the core and dicing them, and filling the press to the brim. As the apples became more and more compacted, we got to the point that the wood supplied wasn't even close to enough to crush the apples any further. It's also totally the wrong size to use 2x4 cuttings, so I put them on end. It worked, but as the apples got tighter and tighter, it became more and more difficult to turn the lever until both of us, pushing it, could turn it. During our working hours we got less than a cup of juice. But the most annoying thing was that we had to throw away all the apples and also the cider because when we turned the press it scraped off the red color from the inside. bracket in the first photo. These bits of red color went straight into our apples and there were so many of them that our cup of juice that we extracted was filled with color floating on the bottom. Conclusion: This product LOOKS trendy, but it's worse than useless.
