I used this combination drill bit to drill and cut a hole in an aluminum mountain bike dropout for a disc brake adapter bracket. Once I made a mark on where the center of the hole would be, I punched it in the center and started with some coolant and a small pilot hole drill. I then switched to a slightly larger drill to widen the hole even further. Finally, using a combination drill in a cordless drill and some coolant, I slowly drilled and tapped the hole. To avoid damaging the threads when unscrewing, I separated the bit from the bit and turned it by hand with a T-handle socket wrench. It took a while but it worked great and didn't break. All in all a great product.
