They are very, very well made and very protective. They really work very little. I'm tall and thin and I usually wear a size 31 or 32 pants and I ordered a medium size which usually fits well but they were VERY tight. I could barely put them on and cut off the circulation in my legs, tight lol. I sent them back and ordered the larger ones which I assume will fit. I still give them 5 stars despite the sizing issue simply because I was so impressed with the level of protection they offer. Just make sure you order at least one size larger than usual.
