Impala 3.9L 2009, friends complained of long soft shifts and slight slippage when starting from a standstill. After hooking up a pressure gauge to the pressure port, I found that the EPC Solenoid was faulty and found low line pressure across the board when I checked the pressure with a scanner and set various amps and compared to the pressure chart. There was also an area where the pressure on command stayed in the 400 milliamp range at 110psi, which definitely suggests the problem isn't with the pump. I removed the side cover after lowering the subframe and replaced the EPC solenoid with this Acdelco part along with a new filter and fluid. I erased TAPS or layer adjustment with a scanner. Reconnect the gauge and check the line pressure and all pressures were within the specified range. Did a test drive and the circuit sits well and no longer slips when starting.
