I've been knitting for more than a year. I bought this set as a starter set because of the price. Since then I've really gotten into knitting and have bought hundreds of dollars worth of knitting needles, my favorite being the addi brass fixed circular knitting needles. Well maybe I overdid my knitting because now I have terrible pain in my groin and elbow (the real cause was a car accident but knitting doesn't help). I found the Addi very heavy and went back to this lightweight bamboo set. I've also found that I find it easier to knit on a flat needle than a circular needle or even DPN because I don't pull/pull as much and it's much easier for me to maintain tension without overloading my muscles . I've worked with this set for a long time and have found that after a few uses the wood acquires a smooth sheen (probably due to the oil from my hands) and the yarn slips off much easier now. My most commonly used needles, 4.0mm, have started to bend a bit. But it's still fun to use! I actually came to Amazon to re-order a set so if they kinked, chipped or ripped they would fit. But then I realized I had never left a review on my last purchase and decided to do it now. If you're thinking of buying this set, just do it! Especially if you are just learning to knit. These are quality needles in amazing rice!
