Review on RUSSELL 639570 Russell Speed Bleeder by Mark Hart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

MY PIPPS ARE EXCELLENT

These upgrades are a great idea, but nobody knows what the heck they are or even that they exist (except maybe you, now that you're reading this lame review). In my opinion, this is the best idea the brake industry has had in years, along with the new pad spacer springs that keep your pads from unnecessarily grabbing against the spinning brake disc. I'm not sure what keeps air from escaping through the threads when you loosen them and let go of the pedal (I suspect some air gets in), but they seem to work fine. Just remember to bring a hose so you can drain the liquid into a pot or bottle. One thing. I wish their manufacturers (there are several of them) would have marked them as vents somehow so I don't accidentally send them back with the cores when installing new calipers. They look just like regular bleeders, so they should be light green or have a known ID that will remind you (and the mechanics) to reinstall them on your next calipers. I give them 4 stars for efficiency but they have to be easily identifiable to have 5 stars.

Pros
  • Every product that we develop and sell at Edelbrock is tested and validated by Edelbrock engineers in real-world conditions using state-of-the-art equipment.
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
