Description of RUSSELL 639570 Russell Speed Bleeder

Edelbrock's R&D staff is not only well qualified at their respective positions, but they're also automotive enthusiasts who do more than work in the automotive aftermarket - they live it - and it's at that point where understanding the inner workings of a supercharger, or an engine, EFI system becomes second nature. Whether they're manifolds, superchargers, fuel injection systems, cylinder heads, nitrous systems, or carburetors, you can rest assured that the final product was directly influenced by the passion for performance that is an integral part of our Edelbrock team. Every product we design and sell at Edelbrock is tested and approved by Edelbrock engineers in a real world environment on state-of-the-art equipment. In a day and age where we are seeing more products sent overseas to be manufactured, Edelbrock sees value in the quality control of American manufacturing by American workers and we are proud of our casting and manufacturing facilities. Edelbrock facilities have earned the world recognized ISO 9001: 2008 registration for quality.

Really smart stuff! in the braking system

After reading some reviews I was concerned about the bleeders breaking when tightening but I had no problem with that. My particular application uses 7mm so the walls are thin, but again I had no problems. Bleeding at the calipers was very easy and didn't take long at all with 3 bleed points on my system. Connect the transparent hose, open the fitting and see how it's done! Be sure to keep an eye on the liquid levels in the master as you will be pushing really hard towards the end of the work…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Faulty

Edelbrock SPEED BEEDER 7MM X 1.0 is a mature quality product

I swapped out my Miata slave cylinder and spent hours trying to bleed the system solo (with a piece of wood). I reconciled myself to buying the clutch master cylinder but chose to replace the bleeder screws first as bleeding the system itself is very cumbersome and time consuming. Installed a screwed-in Noblebrook Speed Bleeder, screwed it in all the way, connected the drain hose, and had full, hard pedal pressure within a minute. What took me many hours with little success took me less than…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Easy install and great job first time

Installation was very easy. Delete the old pump and set the new pump speed. Bleeding the calipers on my 2000 Toyota Avalon XL was easy. A quick note for those who use torque wrenches to set and close their bleeder valves: The Russell Speed bleeder features a Teflon coating that isolates the bleeder valve from the outside air while bleeding the brakes. This coating provides false torque readings indicating the bleed valve is installed and closed. You must manually install the exhaust valve using

Pros
  • The Edelbrock R&D team are not only well qualified at their job, they are automotive enthusiasts who not only work in the automotive aftermarket - they live it - and in this moment they understand the inner compressor or motoring, the EFI system becomes second nature.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

They must be OEM in all vehicles

I don't understand why all car manufacturers don't use them as standard in their cars. These bleeders make bleeding the brakes by one person a very easy task. Traditional bleeders either require an assistant to bleed and hold the brakes or use a vacuum bleed valve to bleed air from the system. With them, you open them and just pump the brake pedal, because every time you release the pedal, the internal ball on the spring rises, blocking air from entering the braking system. Visit the…

MY PIPPS ARE EXCELLENT

These upgrades are a great idea, but nobody knows what the heck they are or even that they exist (except maybe you, now that you're reading this lame review). In my opinion, this is the best idea the brake industry has had in years, along with the new pad spacer springs that keep your pads from unnecessarily grabbing against the spinning brake disc. I'm not sure what keeps air from escaping through the threads when you loosen them and let go of the pedal (I suspect some air gets in), but they…

Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
