Review on RUSSELL 639570 Russell Speed Bleeder by Joseph Meola

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They must be OEM in all vehicles

I don't understand why all car manufacturers don't use them as standard in their cars. These bleeders make bleeding the brakes by one person a very easy task. Traditional bleeders either require an assistant to bleed and hold the brakes or use a vacuum bleed valve to bleed air from the system. With them, you open them and just pump the brake pedal, because every time you release the pedal, the internal ball on the spring rises, blocking air from entering the braking system. Visit the manufacturer's website to see an animation of how it works. If your braking system is shot through and contains very dirty fluid with rust particles then this is not for you. Foreign objects get into the ball spring mechanism and block it. In this situation, it is best to remove the brake line from the caliper or wheel cylinder and flush the entire system. Repair or replace the caliper or wheel cylinder before reassembling. Don't try to save a few bucks when it comes to brakes.
