Works great out to 100 yards. I haven't used it further but I reckon you could get to 300 yards and still see what's going on and maybe go further. The included tripod and phone/camera mount can be used, but not the best. , and the direct view works, but is not as comfortable as an upward-tilted eyepiece. I think the most important thing is that the optics are good enough that you can see what you need at shooting distance. For the price you really can't expect quality and clarity from Ziess but like other scopes and Pinty scopes I've owned it works.
