Great product after a BIG flush

Well, the first thing to know about this (or possibly any other) fluorite is that when the directions say 'flush' it doesn't mean just act fast is – under the faucet. Or even half an hour rinsing under running water. I spent about half an hour rinsing this in a large strainer over a bucket and I thought it was fine, but when I put it in the tank it left a red residue EVERYWHERE. The filter cleared it up in a day or two, but the red residue still remained on my plants, tank walls, etc., and every time the fluorite was disturbed even a little bit, it released a mushroom cloud of red sediment. to darken the entire tank again. I was fed up, so I decided to start over. I removed the fluorite, emptied the tank, rinsed the plants, and began rinsing the fluorite cup by cup. I rinsed by turning/stirring until the water ran clear. It took me about an hour or more. Fluorite looks noticeably different now - you can see the color change in the stone. There is no deposits or cloudiness in the tank and everything looks great! I can dig in fluorite and it no longer gives off cloudiness to the water! I am very satisfied with this product. I know some people will argue that leaving the sediment there and letting it sit is the right way to go because the sediment contains beneficial nutrients, blah blah blah blah blah, but in my opinion it's the compromise for one Aquarium that always looks ugly, not worth it. Thoroughly washed fluorite still has many benefits and looks great!
