This torch head leaks gas from the head even with the shut off wheel fully off, never had a problem with a torch head like this yes remove Always keep your head up when you are not using it but are still unsure while you are working. Not sure if it was just mine or if they are all like that, it can be very dangerous, buy at your own risk.
