I received a 14" key from EPAuto today. It's exactly as pictured, heavyweight and beautifully chrome plated, with deeply engraved size markings on each of the four ends. I took photos and left the key in the trunk to check later as I don't have a flat tire at the moment. Therefore I cannot confirm the durability of the tool. When you look into the sockets, you can guess the base metal, since these surfaces are not chrome-plated. It appears to be moderately grainy, possibly indicating a pot metal character (e.g. presence of a lead component?). But the strangest thing is the cross member joint, which is unlike any other welded joint I've seen. I don't know exactly what it is, but it looks like a large corrugated epoxy disc glued to one side of each of the two crossbars. In fact, there was a small amount of thin residue that looked like dried epoxy on one or both bars. I think of the joint. The best I can do is post pics and hope you see and appreciate it for yourself. The 3/4 inch end fits my nuts very well; and I believe it will prove to be a wonderful tool. So a grade of "4" which would be a slight "5" if I could see the weld at the joint. I call this "mysterious" because it's hard to see how an epoxy joint can be cheaper to make than a weld joint, unless the base metal is too weak to support the weld.
