Ideal for attaching a keyboard under a laptop

This stand, one of two I was able to find, has a vertical configuration along an axis perpendicular to your seating position. That said, unlike other risers, the stand's supports are in the front and back, rather than on the side. This stand has more clearance than any other I've found. I don't know why this configuration isn't more common as it's the only practical way to put a keyboard under a laptop. The photos I posted show my Kinesis Advantage keyboard under my MacBook Air. The Advantage is a very bulky keyboard, but I have enough room for my hands to type freely without my knuckles touching the top of the stand . Note that the Advantage buttons are mostly located on the sides in two separate recesses and are not covered by a stand on the top. With standard, lower-profile keyboards that have many keys closer to the center, this probably won't be an issue anyway. The stand itself feels very solid as it is made of solid aluminium. The rubber pads feel premium and hold my laptop and work surface well. Everything is very easy. I would improve the product in two ways. First, while the parts themselves appear solid, there aren't any latches to hold them in a fixed position. It all depends on gravity and friction to keep it in place. In practice, that's not a problem, maybe even a good thing: not using any fasteners means simpler mechanics and less weight. However, the kickstand wobbles a bit when pressed while it's in place, like in my photos. (There is no wobble in other configurations.) Again, this isn't really a problem, but more of a minor annoyance. There's no chance of your laptop tipping over, I just want to feel like everything is in place. Secondly, the manufacturer has only powder-coated the surfaces, leaving shiny beveled edges, which looks a bit gaudy. The rubber pads also have a separate shade of gray that isn't very attractive. I would prefer everything to be one color or at most two colors (one for metal, one for rubber). I would recommend a darker gray for the rubber grips, at least for the space gray version of the stand I bought. All in all, the only game in town if you want to put a keyboard under your laptop, and a decent game. included. Would recommend without hesitation.
