Review on Chapman Brewing Equipment Stainless UniVessel by Kyle Gilbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The last fermenter I will buy.

PORTABLE VERSION Please note first: This item is not shipped directly from Chapman. My first item was shipped in a rush and the two piece ball lock was wrapped in a McDonald's sleeve. I sent it back quickly. After contacting Chapman I was told they would no longer work with this supplier. Ok, now for the rating. When the correct item was sent it was well packaged. There were no burrs on the bucket. The internal volume designation (in gallons) was also a welcome addition. The handles are trained and make it easier to get in and out of my fermentation room. Packing couldn't be easier now. I just attach the hose to my cam locks and open the valve. The height of the port was perfect as it also clears the pipe. The design makes it very easy to disassemble and clean. I've always been afraid of pushing too hard when cleaning with plastic buckets. I didn't want to scratch the sides and make room for a bug that might cause an infestation. When this happened I had to throw the fermenter away. Now I can use the dish sponge without worrying about damaging it. A few of my fellow homebrewers picked it up after I discussed it in a meeting and they're happy with it too. One went so far as to drill more holes for his own purposes. This will be the last 7 gallon fermenter I will be using.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not everything fits
