The dealer gave me rivets but not these plates. They seemed very well made, had a good finish and included an extra set of screws for installation (there are 20 screws in the box when you only need 16). I have read the installation details and can confirm that the existing holes are not punched. I highly recommend using an impact wrench for this setup (don't know how I would have done it without mine). I would suggest using one of the extra self tapping screws that come in the box and using them to pre-thread each hole (just screw in and then back out) - then after threading each hole you can just go back and install the panels with other screws. Everything seemed to work smoothly with the factory bed spikes (I had a Line-X, so a couple of the bed spikes had to wiggle a bit to get in place, but they fit).
