Sorry it took so long to install ceiling fans in our home! We have a small house with air conditioning, but there is no circulation - the air in the house is simply still, and the air conditioning is unevenly distributed. I did a lot of research on blade spacing, size etc and decided this fan would fit in my daughter's 10 x 11 room (although everyone said it was too small to make a difference). I'm a woman in my 30's and did the install myself. What a learning experience. I bought a brace to fit between ceiling joists but found that my ceiling joist was flush with a small hole in the ceiling. I had to go to the attic to screw on an electrical box I found at Home Depot to mount to the side of the ceiling joist (Westinghouse Lighting 0124000 Sidemount Plus Fan Box, 2-1/8" deep), which was perfect solution to my problem. I screwed it into a joist and then found that the wiring in my old house wasn't colored according to the instructions (my "blue" wire is actually red, my "white" is actually beige, and I don't use any at all Black). ). ) I just sent my dad a video of the wiring I took while still attached to the previous bracket and he explained to me how to connect the wires. After that, the actual installation of the fan was a breeze! It works great, is very quiet (my 19 year old daughter commented on how quiet it is compared to the regular fan she uses) and lets in loads of air on both medium and high settings. This is actually PERFECT! It's durable and looks great in your room. I just bought the same dark wood fan for my room which is the same size and I'm so excited to install it that I paid $16 for next day delivery! Now that I know how to do it, this time I can do it in less than 2 hours! If you have a small room, you will love this fan! It's quiet, beautiful, and delivers powerful airflow thanks to its 13-stage blades.
