I had lots of issues with this at first, but there are several things to consider:a. The light on most BT devices will blink rapidly when in pairing mode. This one does not. The blue and green lights will cycle once when you first plug it in and that's it. So looking at the light to know if something is happening will throw you off. So if you don't read the manual, you will be pulling your hair out.b. I got it to work with my son's car for his android radio and display live metrics, but not my daughter's with Carplay. Duhh. I bought the Android version for both cars.c. You have to turn the car on but not necessarily have the engine running for it to enable Bluetooth pairing. Even though the red light is on all the time, it's really not activated until then. So, I think that's the #1 reason for all the frustrations.d. This works for scanning codes on my truck, and my kids cars. It is not recommended as reliable for use in my BMW, so I will have to look elsewhere. Bummer. To sum it up, this will work on most cars once you figure it out if you did purchase the right one for your phone, but I'm knocking points for confusing setup, separate devices for Android and IOS, and black listed for some cars.
