I have a 2016 GTI and purchased both the large and small sizes because I wanted to see which would work best if i had the rear seats down. With the rear seats down and attaching the clips to the front seat head rests, I decided the SMALL size was still the best option as the large was just too long. With the rear seats down, the padded portion of the liner was short by about 6-8", however with the bumper flap extended it was sufficiently long enough for my needs. The only downside one might have, is the bumper flap will not extend over the bumper when attached the way I described. With the rear seats in the up position and clips attached the the rear seat head rests the fit was very nice. I believe i had to fold a small amount of the padded section under with the bumper cover, but it was not a functional issue. I've only used this once so far for a weekend camping trip w/ dog and camping gear, i washed after per instructions and hung dry, great product.
