Review on Trimax TRZ8AL Aluminum Adjustable Receiver by Kenny Beyer

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not perfect. But very good

I have an 8 inch Trimax adjustable hitch. The workmanship is excellent and all the details fit together very well. to the receiver and one to attach the ball mount to the hitch. The included locks are one of the reasons I chose this setup. They have the same keys, come with 2 pairs of keys (4 keys total) and both locks work great. Very easy to install and remove. After placing the smaller end on a large 1/2" ratchet handle and placing it in a vise, I was able to apply the required 250 foot-pounds of torque to the balls. Once that was done, everything else was easy. I used a bit of "Locktite" on both ball threads and the set screw in the 2" ball. This coupling is quite loose and moves in my receiver. One star deducted for that. I don't think this would be a problem though so I'm not too worried I mostly tow a 7000lb GW trailer with an F-250 so that would be more than enough The drop isn't quite enough to my trailer level, though it is much better than it was (this is not a product dig. Just a FYI for Super Duty owners.) Ford Super Duty trucks sit very high in the back So far I am very happy with this purchase.
