This is a good tool for installing the star nut. Mainly because the torx nut is tightly bolted to the tool, this keeps the torx nut centered so the lugs that flex are even and the torx nut is centered on the steerer tube. Another brand has a smooth shank that simply fits into the threads of the claw nut, so the claw nut is not held securely during installation. This brand is not suitable for use. This make/model works well, you don't want to ruin the steerer tube in your expensive fork, always use a star nut tool that threads onto the star nut.
