I tried to use it to apply roofing tape
that I know isn't technically intended but seemed to work, better than a piece of wood and a hammer. The only problem is that it arrived late so I had to use a piece of wood and a hammer to apply the tape first, so it may or may not be good, but it was easier than the first method. The reel wobbles a bit, but maybe that's ok for actual use.
