The blue version was $10 less than the other colors. When I bought it, it was just under $50, while others cost more than $59 or a little less. I already know why it's cheaper than the blue one - I don't know if anyone remembers, but a long time ago this little hard drive was painted blue and sold as a PS4 backup drive for a whopping $99 or some other outrageous price like that. Because of that price, they sat on the shelves, and in the end I didn't see them on the specified shelves anymore. However, this still leaves tons of stock, which is great for bargain hunters who, like me, still want quality. For $40-$50 (depending on what's on sale or not) with backup software and password protection, not a bad deal at all. I originally ordered this mindset for my gaming laptop, but in the end I didn't need the extra storage, I did need it on my measly 500GB (of which 200GB was occupied by unknown stuff?) Xbox One console that came with my Game Pass -Subscription and use of Bethesda console mods as well as my use as my main entertainment center quickly disappeared. For some reason I was expecting it to be a lot bigger, but the small size is definitely a nice bonus. However, I unpacked it (I recommend saving the packaging, it's a nice makeshift mount for this hard drive in case you need to move it later) and plugged it into the back of my Xbox One. He asked what I should put on it (games and apps, yes!) and offered to format it, which took less than 5 minutes. After that, it appeared as built-in storage, which was also pretty nifty. Transferring games (mainly Bethesda games after Creation Club which are 60+ gigs with DLC FFS) took about 10 minutes and only really slowed down on the very last transfer, but not enough to be annoying. I will say this many times, although I'm not sure if it's an Xbox bug or a WD bug, DO NOT attempt to use video streaming apps from this hard drive. This makes the video choppy and unwatchable. This may be because the drive is not an SSD or is incompatible with the Xbox operating system, so to speak. However, when I tried it I had to save said apps back to the default drive, which was annoying as it took a bit to browse the settings. Only thing to add is that I recently moved this item and stuffed it back into its packaging to protect it and put it in the car with me. It held up well and is still working great. Overall yes, I recommend this CD. I'm actually planning on getting a second one for my laptop in the near future. :) Well, I bought her a new one. I would never recommend buying a used mechanical hard drive, FYI.
