
that could be my expectation. There are two different sizes of valve stems, the most common being .453 inch. The hook used to remove the old stem worked well, but the "cone" used to literally drive the new stem in was too big to fit the hole in the rim. I have 3 pieces or 4 different greases and the stem would not go through the cone whether it was on the rim or in my vise. I tapped, slapped, tried to loosen the shaft a bit, but nothing helped. I ended up breaking the shoulder and inserting the valve from the inside of the rim. I worked in a tire shop and have worked with similar products before. I still have the tool and can try again if needed.
