I was disappointed that Dodge Ram didn't supply this part from the factory. Until I discovered this part, I didn't even realize I had a hitch until I took a closer look. However, this should not diminish the value of this product. Haven't pulled anything with it yet, but the product seems solid enough to live up to its specs. I recently installed this product on my RAM 1500, 2018 SLT. The product fitted well and took about 45 minutes to install. Contrary to other reviews, I was able to put the plastic bumper cover back onto the hex bolt without lifting it. At first I had the same problem as others have described. However, if you just loosen all the screws, there is room to adjust the hex screw so that it is in the correct position to put the cap back on. Tighten the hex bolt in the correct position, make sure the cover is installed correctly, then tighten the remaining rear bolts that secure the product to the hitch. It took a few minutes of skill. A word to the wise - a) For this setup you will need a 12mm hex bit and a 21mm wrench or socket. . After removing the included fishing lines from the clevises, make sure the clamps do not fall back into the coupler. I used needle nose pliers to hold the bolts in place until I finger tightened the nut. It would be pretty lousy to pull the bolts/brackets out again once they fell in.
