Review on SpareHand Universal Bike Frame Adapter by James Hounds

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I bought three different brands - all have worked well!

I needed three grab bars (2 kids bikes, and 1 woman's bike). I bought three different brands, figuring I'd either hit a home run on all three, or at the very least, find the best bar. All three (Hollywood Racks, Swagman Bar Adapter Deluxe, Stoneman Sports QSP-610 Sparehand Adjustable Bike Bar Adapter) have performed well so far. My only complaint is the Hollywood doesn't rotate like the other two. For my kid's bikes, I tried to put the bar from the seat post to the top bar of the handlebar, as suggested by others. However, the Hollywood doesn't rotate to allow this to happen. No worries, though, since I was able to take it from the seat post to the traditional position on the handlebar post. My kids bikes are 20", so that may help others as they guage how it might work on their kid's bikes. I'm guessing the need to go from the post to the top bar is for REALLY little bikes, which I don't think the Hollywood bar would work, but it will work for 20" and above for sure.

Pros
  • Sports
Cons
  • The adapter can be noisy or clunky during use
