Review on ๐Ÿงฉ Suburban Anode Rod (232767) by Kevin Singleton

Great item for long term use

I change mine every two years. It will last longer but if I take it out to check it will be easier to replace at that point. It's just not worth checking again. I consider them to be long-term care items. If you drive much longer, the rod will disappear completely and the tank will start to rust. Also, be sure to buy a magnesium anode, an aluminum anode is cheaper but doesn't protect either. Considering the cost of a new water heater, it makes sense to use magnesium rods and avoid aluminum rods. While the anode stick is out, it's time to use the water heater's flushing nozzle on the end of the hose. A surprising amount is washed out. If you happen to order too long for your tank, all you have to do is cut off the excess. I am a regular buyer of magnesium anode bars.
