I have an old model that has always worked fine. I needed another one and accidentally bought the 900 Boost and 1100 Boost at the same time. This gave me a chance to compare them (without taking them out of the box - I have to send one back). Their color rendering is slightly different (not suitable for blending in a light painting application). The 1100 has a slightly warmer color than the 900. This is not very important when cycling. Importantly, the 900 Boost has a built-in diffuser that makes the spray wider and more even. Based on my experience with the old model where I wanted a wider beam, this is a great upgrade. I'm returning 1100 (not what I expected) and keeping the more expensive 900 Boost.
