I used this for my landrace watermelon breeding project (some of which are low sugar lemon melon hybrids and hybrids [lemon melon x homemade watermelon]). The Brix meter seems to be working, and while I don't know if it's accurate, it appears to be. The comparison requires access to a known good Brix meter. Many citrus melons have a sugar content in the 2-4% range. Homemade watermelon seems to measure at 10% (lower limit) and above. So yeah, it seems to be working great! Easy to use. Just squeeze watermelon juice on it to measure. It would probably be possible to measure the 50/50 ratio of distilled water to sugar and see if it measures correctly. I think it would. Very happy with my purchase! would recommend. Would buy again! The best purchase I've made in recent years! If you're reading this, buy now, you won't be disappointed.
