Review on πŸ“€ LG UHD 4K Region Free Blu Ray DVD Player - PAL NTSC Ultra HD with USB - 100-240V 50/60Hz for Global Use & 6ft Multi System 4K HDMI Cable by Sam Anez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They are new but have been modified to be region free.

somewhat strange. I mean the unit works great but I ordered this new one after failing to order another supposedly region free LG 4k player from Revain and it turned out to be only region A. I tried this one. The first thing I did was the Region B drive. The instructions said I had to turn on the device, press the number 2 on the remote and it would automatically reboot and allow Region B drives. I pressed it and nothing happened but the instructions it came with included an email address. I emailed them and they said the wrong instructions were provided. Apparently for UBK80 you need to make sure there is no hard drive in the player and turn it off completely. Then press the appropriate button (button 1 for region A, button 2 for region B and button 3 for region C) on the remote control. The player will turn on automatically, after which you can insert a disc. This way I was able to switch regions with no issues, but that brings me to why it's weird. I can say this is an unused player because it's pristine, but the people who sell it open the boxes and modify them to play Blu-ray from any region. Can't complain as the region's free players are extremely overpriced and somewhere in between, plus my favorite 4k player was LG. So keep this in mind when purchasing; it is new but it has been opened and modified.

Pros
  • HDR-compatible content created for High Dynamic Range or HDR may display an even brighter image than non-HDR content when used with an HDR-compatible display. HDR10 is natively supported; Dolby Vision support is planned to be made available via a future firmware update.
Cons
  • sparse instructions
