Region Free does not mean that the region is free.

I bought this unit because it was advertised as a regional player with 4K capabilities. I have a number of Russian films, German films and other foreign films in my BlueRay collection, as well as US region BlueRays. I bought it because my latest region free LG wasn't playing the BlueRays of a specific US region for some weird reason. Unfortunately, when I received the UP970, I had the same problem. Now you can grab TV shows and movies not available in the US and watch them at home!

No longer released in US or never on Blu- Ray publishes in the US. However, in the UK shows like The Prisoner are still available and released in great remastered Blu-Ray versions. I read mixed reviews on this player but I wanted 4K support AND multiple regions so I took a chance and am very happy. They are new but have been modified to be region free.

somewhat strange. I mean the unit works great but I ordered this new one after failing to order another supposedly region free LG 4k player from Revain and it turned out to be only region A. I tried this one. The first thing I did was the Region B drive. The instructions said I had to turn on the device, press the number 2 on the remote and it would automatically reboot and allow Region B drives. I pressed it and nothing happened but the instructions it came with included an email address. I…
