I bought this unit because it was advertised as a regional player with 4K capabilities. I have a number of Russian films, German films and other foreign films in my BlueRay collection, as well as US region BlueRays. I bought it because my latest region free LG wasn't playing the BlueRays of a specific US region for some weird reason. Unfortunately, when I received the UP970, I had the same problem. It does not play region A BlueRays. The LG UP970 comes with instructions on how to change the region, but the instructions apply to Sony UBP-X1000/X800/X80/X700/X1100/X800M2 players. Has anyone else had this problem? To this day I feel like I was scammed a lot by paying extra money for the supposedly free region option. So I called Revain support and got a call back right away. Unfortunately it was very difficult to hear the speaker as the connection was very poor. She was able to put me in touch with the actual seller of this device and we were able to determine that my LG UP970 came with the wrong instructions. Instead of pressing RED, GREEN, BLUE and YELLOW buttons to change region settings, you need to press number buttons 1, 2 and 3 on the remote control and then play. Now the device works perfectly. I'm glad it's working properly now. A happy customer who changed their rating.
