I don't get rainwater while driving, only when parked on a flat or sloped spot. So I watch the sky as I park in my driveway, and when the forecast calls for rain, I attach the switches to the gutters with a small strip of 3M aluminum tape. It seems to be working fine for me. If I want to go to the trouble of putting the trunk on the cockpit, I'm sure it stays dry. Just remember to remove them from the gutters when the rain stops. I don't think they'll make it through the car wash.
