As others have said they come without a chip. Without the chip, your printer will not recognize the cartridge. This product requires you to remove the chip from your old cartridge, which cannot be done without destroying it as it is glued on. The tools they give you are useless for chip removal. I almost destroyed my old cartridge rendering it unusable and now my printer won't print because it doesn't recognize one of the cartridges. So you can spend $80-$100 on them and get 4 bad cartridges or spend $70 on official HP but they really work.
