Review on πŸ”Œ MaxWorks 80703: Heavy Duty 40 Foot Lighted Welding Cord - ETL Approved by Peter Parks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid copper, clear ends, 8 gauge wire

I am using this to extend an open ended 6-50r to charge a 10kW+ Tesla Model 3. It was 40 feet, it only took me 35 feet and the shorter the better you avoid increased resistance and heat + the socket is illuminated so people can avoid it since it's on the pavement + the ends are transparent so I can can ensure that the wire on the pins does not catch fire + copper with brass ends. The solder points seem to be pretty good + I was able to draw 40 amps for 5 hours in direct sunlight at an ambient temperature of 65 F with no problems. The only problem would be that in winter the cable jacket looks like plastic and isn't that flexible even at 65F. However, there doesn't seem to be any cold weather line under 12 gauge.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly snapped
