Well built but not UL listed

I bought this cable for my welder and plasma cutter. It seems well built and flexible enough considering its size. Appreciate the translucent plug and socket, you can see when the connections are going bad (they turn black). Like most Revain cables, it is not UL listed. As such I wouldn't trust it for continuous unattended use, but for the money it's still a good deal. My usage is intermittent while I'm around so I'm not worried about that.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged

quality chord. Works well with my portable welder

Mine was a little under 40 feet but I don't care. That's literally the diameter of a garden hose. Suitable for NEMA 6-50 standard. Ultra-tight connection in the socket. I could hardly separate my welder from it. I will also buy a 25ft chord. If you're here, take this. Where can you find a chord of this caliber, with such a thick jacket, such length, and at such a price? Nowhere else. I watched. If you find one, leave me a comment. I'm always looking for more chords for my toys.

Pros
  • Molded plug and illuminated 50 amp plug for added safety
Cons
  • So far so good

Pure power but can't take the electricity.

I bought this extension to run my welder with 1/4 material. I have run it on a generator in the past and was disappointed with the quality of the welding and was hoping the clean energy would help. I'm happy to say it did, it burned very smoothly. My poor rating stems from the fact that when I finished my project and cleaned up I noticed that the pin end of the cord had become discolored due to overheating. I was under the impression that this cable would be able to handle the current. My…

Blown LED light cord

I was looking for an extension cord for a 36 amp TIG welder (HTP 221) and it was hot. It had just been plugged in and not used that day, but the spot where the wire to the LED burned out was hot enough to turn skin red (see brown spot in picture). The cable itself is fine and actually seems to be well insulated and well made, but as this short LED wire feels like it could melt and the wire is buried in resin I have to cut this end off and buy a new end, which is disappointing. If they removed…

Solid copper, clear ends, 8 gauge wire

I am using this to extend an open ended 6-50r to charge a 10kW+ Tesla Model 3. It was 40 feet, it only took me 35 feet and the shorter the better you avoid increased resistance and heat + the socket is illuminated so people can avoid it since it's on the pavement + the ends are transparent so I can can ensure that the wire on the pins does not catch fire + copper with brass ends. The solder points seem to be pretty good + I was able to draw 40 amps for 5 hours in direct sunlight at an ambient…
