I don't have any young children, but I do have a very smart siamese cat who all of a sudden decided to open the kitchen cabinets at 2am. After many sleepless nights because of her getting into the cabinets and playing around waking the household, I decided to purchase childproof locks. That's when I found out they are not all equal. ALL of them with the exception of these were not up to par to her little paw. With ALL the other locks she was able to get a tiny part of her paw within the small amount of opening that was left behind by any of the locks and sure enough. BANG of the door closing.These locks fit tight and are easily adjustable. I had a little issue with them sticking to the underside of the cabinets. That was easily fixed by putting a drop of superglue on the pad. The other pad stuck just fine onto the front of the cabinet door.
