The paint was peeling when I took the starter out of the box. More broke off when handling for installation. So that should have been my first clue that it was a piece of junk. This starter LOOKS exactly like the original (minus the paint chipped off) and fits very well. After installation, the starter was actually WORSE than the one I replaced. He only set up my 07 Street Glide once and never worked again. Looks like some kind of internal shutter. Thinking the battery must be the problem (since the new starter couldn't possibly be bad, right?) I also replaced the battery but it still didn't work. I then reinstalled the original starter and now the bike starts again but still doesn't start well so now I have to buy an ANOTHER starter but definitely not this one! I travel for work so by the time I did all this I had already missed the short 30 day return window. Your warranty is also worthless. good luck with someone Now I have a $150 piece of junk in my garage that I can't return. It's complete junk. Do not buy.
