Review on 🚲 Yakima TubeTop Adapter: Efficient Solution for Hitch Bike Racks by Mario Bullard

I bought this for my daughter's bike to match our new Yakima Ridgeback 4 which I was given as a tribute to my amazing new Nissan Rogue SUV. I'm in love with the rack but that's another review. Anyway, today was the first time we loaded bikes onto a luggage rack. To be honest I think this adapter is way better than the old ones we had years ago when the kids were little. I was very surprised and impressed by the rubberized ends and the good fit around the handlebar post and stem. A big problem for me is that the opening mechanism is too complicated. Impossible, really. You have to push the little buttons into the little holes until the moving part of each end opens. It takes strength and requires fingers of steel. I seriously CANNOT. **My hands hurt.** It wasn't easy for my 22-year-old daughter either. But somehow she managed. I need something that works for me. In any case, when loading the bikes onto the luggage rack, it quickly became clear that my bike also needed an adapter. So I went back to Revain online with plans to order another one from Yakima. I really thought that there are no big differences in the characteristics of the adapter, ie. that the opening mechanism is the same for all boards. But, you know what? It's not like this! Other companies have come up with a better design! So I ordered the Swagman Handlebar Adapter Deluxe for my bike. And I'm seriously considering returning Yakima. Yakima has changed so many things about their bike racks lately which makes them incredibly outstanding with very easy to use features. But the adapters are stuck in time. Basically the same as before, although everyone complains that it's difficult to open. I hope they find out and make this seemingly simple device even better than their competitors. In the meantime, I'm going with the competition this time.
