Review on XINGYHENG High Power Converter Adjustable Protection by Justin Puranik
Very reliable voltage regulation; but heats up
I bought this buck-boost converter after trying several other unreliable converters (others failed to maintain a stable output voltage under load and/or dips/spikes after power up). This buck-boost converter seems to give a very reliable and stable output compared to others, so my search is finally over. However, there is a good reason why this unit has two large heatsinks (and why I give it 4 stars): it feels very hot even when running to specs. I'm reducing the 29V input to 24V at 1A and I'm concerned about the temperature both heatsinks are reaching. I might have to install a fan.
