D-Link is prohibited from selling cameras that are not already supported by its software (FIXED)

. Update: Shortly after I posted my review, D-Link contacted me directly and put me through a real person. Which I think is rare these days. That was pretty cool. D-Link has gone to great lengths to resolve the issues I've seen so I can use the cameras and others don't have the same issues. While of course I'd rather not find out how good the D-Link tech support is, I'm a satisfied customer and happy with my purchase. Cameras we took two new DCS-8525LH. The feature set looked pretty solid for the price. Unfortunately, none of the new DCS-8525LH were able to successfully complete the installation process. To set up the cameras I had to download the new mydlink app. Unfortunately, the current version of the mydlink app for iOS and Android doesn't seem to work with cameras either. The installation process always fails (error code B.3.) when setting up a Wi-Fi connection for the camera. Confusingly, since the camera's Link LED is green, my Wi-Fi router sees the camera, assigns it an IP address, and the camera is sending and receiving TCP/IP traffic. For fun, I restarted the cameras and tried setting them up for Ethernet (error code A.3.). Same overall result. I called D-Link 24/7 technical support. Which is super convenient. I didn't stay long, maybe 20 minutes, and a very patient technician walked me through a standard D-Link script. Unfortunately the problem could not be solved. I don't know what to do with it. While the quality of the D-Link software has always been satisfactory, it has always worked reasonably well. Not this time I think.

Pros
  • High Definition Resolution and Visibility: Full HD 1080p video resolution ensures crisp, clear, and detailed live and recorded video
Cons
  • Difficult to remember but it was the number

D-Link shouldn't sell a camera that its software doesn't support yet ( resolved )
