Review on Bluetooth Adapter for Mercedes Benz MMI Port - Compatible with Apple iPhone iPod Android Devices - Play High-Fidelity Music by Andrew Holman

Seamless integration – 2012 G Wagon (G550)

This MMI Bluetooth adapter works perfectly with the 2012 Mercedes G550 factory radio. Switch the audio input to Aux and you're done. Pairing with my phone was easy. When I start the car my phone automatically connects to this bluetooth adapter and to my surprise also to the Mercedes bluetooth for phone calls. I can run both at the same time. I didn't know this was going to happen when I bought it and figured I'd have to either toggle Bluetooth manually or just take the call through the iPhone. Very happy with this inexpensive option of connecting Spotify through a decent sounding Harman Kardon Logic 7 G Wagon system. color the music very strongly. Mids and highs sound good, but there is too much bass. When using the stereo sound settings, I had to turn the parametric bass control down to minus six (-6) to get realistic playback. I think for EDM or hip hop it could be a plus. For everything else it just sounds like a 16 year old sound setup. But it's okay, 25 years ago I was also a bass player. For the price it's not a problem. Act!

Pros
  • WORKS WITH MB MEDIA INTERFACE Compatibility with the vehicle's MB Multimedia Interface (code 518) which is normally found in your vehicle's glove box (does not fit under the armrest drawer's HMI slot). Please check the port before ordering. In Bluetooth mode, you can only change songs from your smartphone, without music control from the MMI system. The playlist is not displayed on the screen.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
