To make a long story short, this Holya caused an ammonia squirt in my aquarium. I can confirm this was caused by a tree and not a random cycle as I soaked the cholla separately in a bucket first and was able to test the water in that bucket: it had over 2ppm ammonia. I have no idea why this happened as cholla was always fine before, but buyers using it for aquariums are strongly advised to boil, soak and test the water before using it in an aquarium. If I hadn't soaked myself first or been a novice fish farmer and didn't know what to do I would have lost my entire shrimp population. Otherwise, I am satisfied with the size, quantity and quality of the product.
