Good - straight up; it is VERY inexpensive for 2 kayak racks. It won't have extensive padding or frills. However, for the price, this is a very well put together set of shelves. Assembly is easy, the parts fit together with minimal effort. I have no idea what confuses people in the build process. Yes; There's only an exploded view to help you assemble it, but if you've ever assembled a blender you'll be fine lol. The brackets don't fit perfectly on my 2018 Honda CRV with factory rack and rails, but fit snugly, securely and with enough clearance to work with bolts and adjust spacing. The pad probably won't last as long, but if you have access to a pool noodle dollar store it shouldn't be a deal breaker. The first trip was 189 miles one-way at freeway speed (65-80 mph). I checked the grandstands at 20 and 90 miles and they were as safe as a long day. Use the ratchet straps instead of the included straps to secure the kayak and use the included ones as slings back to the mount as I think a more secure connection would be optimal. A 15ft ratchet strap allows me to use the eight around the set. Don't be a rat-turning gorilla - obviously. Remember, this is a kayak, not a dresser. Very satisfied - friends also buy them after looking.
