High quality and great looks

Bought this as a gift for my parents whose old cutting board was looking run down. Cutting boards are not heirlooms! Let go! This is a very high quality, durable board that looks great on the counter. It's quite heavy and thick, so it's best used as a stationary chopping board rather than a chopping board. It's not easy to lift it to scrape the ingredients into the pot. But there's enough room on the sides to scrape it onto a plate and then at least put it in a pan. As another reviewer mentioned, it is recommended to condition it before use. This prevents cracks and extends the life of the panel. The conditioner I used (Howard Butcher Block Conditioner) made the wood look richer, which was nice. But it takes a few hours to apply, so keep that in mind. I bought this board for about $40 which is less than half the price I could find a comparable board for in stores. This is a good deal, high quality, perfect size and great looks. Highly recommended.
