Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 03110 Hardware Kit for Exhaust Flange by Patrick Matin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Walker 36463 was too short...these are 1/2 " too long.

I have a 1990 K2500 350 with Y-pipe that I replaced with a 1990 Suburban 3/4 ton engine on the 350 and they don't fit every exhaust manifold. I keep one manifold and replace the other which is why I mentioned both machines. As usual the old studs are breaking off but I had one whole so I could get the exact length, and he was 3-1/2", and those lugs are the same length... Walker 36463 is only 3" long. The missing 1/2" makes it impossible to install the spring and nut, so they were for useless to me... Although the Walker website lists their kit as the only one that fits my cars, looks like someone left out the o-ring, adding another 1/2" to the overall thickness. Me spent a lot of time finding the right screw, and dorma n was the only one I could find. A set of bolt, nut and spring is Dorman 031.10 and a set of 3 (3 complete) is Dorman 675-210. I finally found them at Rock Auto for about $3 each with shipping but Revain had no seller with a good price under 03110 and no listing for 3 packs. However in many places a 3 piece kit is only sold as one assembly which is confusing as they show a quantity of 3 and only count parts of an assembly rather than offering 3 complete bolts. However if you have 3" bolts they will fit and I can't fault the part just because it didn't work for me which is why it gets 5 stars. Another reviewer stated they were 1/2 inch shorter, but by not specifying the length I ignored the review...my mistake. Even the Dorman site gave me the wrong kit, but when I put in either of the two numbers above, they listed my cars in the install section. However as there are only 3 in the pack they fit perfectly and the quality is similar to the OEM they get 5 stars... but look at the prices.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
