Bear's travel bag use

Bear was adopted at 14 years old, it will be two years in September. His people gave him up, I guess thinking he got too old. I purchased this dog travel bag shortly after his adoption, I put it on him when we go out for walks around the block. It started as a way to store my sun glasses as we went from sunlight to dusk dark, to dark. Then I threw in a couple treats to enjoy as we get to the end of the walk. I lost the last of my two dogs to old age in January after 14 years, in 2017 I got Bear after my first loss. It appears that Bear had never been out on walks, the leash and walking was a new experience for him. In his first day here, I took him on his first one mile walk around the block. Shortly after I purchased this travel bag we starting using it for all our local walks, we don't use it while walking in the forest. What this travel bag has provided my dog, it has provided a meaningful task to do, provides a job and a mission to carry small light weight items as we walk including the dog tags of the two I lost. The bag is light weight for walks, but it also provides him self identity for a dog who's owner gave him up. With Bear and our new dog Teddy (we've had less than a year), between the two of them they have more than 1,500 miles walking with my new bike and not counting on foot. I realize the bag is just sewn materials put together, but for my dog Bear it represents a freedom he never had, open air space he never got, and a commitment from me to have fun times for as long as he can. On August 4th, Bear will be 16 years old, at 77 lbs., it's a 7 to 1 ratio, meaning Bear will be 112 years old on his B-day, or 7x16, equals 112. The first photo is of Teddy and Bear on a walk, the second is Bear after a walk in wet and cool conditions. Bear loves his job and loves his travel bag and what it means for him. A very good purchase for our household.
